Some people think that cutting starchy carbs is the quick solution to weight loss. Some people have had success with this but for most it's not a solution they can stick to long term.

Controlling rather than cutting carbs from your diet is a more moderate and long term approach to managing your calorie intake.

Some tips to limit your carb intake include:
  • Make one (or two) meals a day carb-free.
  • Stick to no/low carb salads or soups for lunch
  • Try fruit and yoghurt or an omelette for breakfast instead of toast or cereals
  • Use vegetables as a substitute. Often in pasta, rice and potatoes are simply a taste carrier. Try serving your dinner over vegetables like cauliflower or broccoli.
  • Avoid carb-based snacks - instead try a boiled egg, vegetable sticks, fresh fruit or nuts.
Any other suggestions?
