  1. Clear the decks: Go through your pantry and take out all the treats, temptations, high saturated fat, high-sugar, low value food. Pop it all in a box and take it down to your nearest food bank or soup kitchen. Get rid of all temptations.
  2. Plan ahead: Map out a meal plan for your first/next week. Include lots of vegetables and allow for three healthy snacks between meals to keep hunger at bay.
  3. Go shopping for the good stuff: Using your meal plan buy everything you need and lots of fruit, vegetables, whole grain foods and tasty healthy snacks to replenish your kitchen.
  4. Portion pack everything: Yes it's cheaper to buy in bulk but it's also easy when in a rush to have a bigger serving of cereal, nuts or even meat for your dinner than you planned for. Measure everything into portion sized zip-lok bags ready for when you need them.
  5. Sunday night set-up: prep your vegetables in bulk for the work week, measure out your snacks ready to go, pre-make Monday's lunch to start the week well and prep for a healthy Monday night dinner allowing a small left-over portion for Tuesday lunch.
